PAST ARTISTS
THE BARDAVON WURLITZER THEATRE ORGAN
The Bardavon 1869 Opera House, as it is currently known, has a history of change since its construction. The theatre was built as the Collingwood Opera House in 1869 by James Collingwood. In 1923 was renovated to the Bardavon Theatre when movie palaces became prominent, then in 1976 it became the Bardavon 1869 Opera House. The theatre has survived many industry changes such as live programming as an Opera House, to silent films, vaudeville, talkie films as a movie palace and back to live programming including films. The stage has seen the greats of all eras such as Mark Twain, the Barrymores, Lillian Russell, John Philip Sousa, Milton Berle, Sammy Kaye and more recently Dave Brubeck, Patti Smith, Harry Belafonte and many more.
