State of the City Address 2025 with Mayor Flowers
City of Poughkeepsie Mayor Yvonne Flowers will deliver the State of the City address on Friday night, March 21, at The Bardavon 1869 Opera House, 35 Market St., Poughkeepsie.
The mayor will be highlighting the city’s accomplishments, key priorities, and vision for the future.
Mayor Flowers began her term in January 2024, becoming the first African American to hold the position. She has focused on working with partners on housing options addressing the homeless issue, spurring economic development and seeking more grants for the city among other initiatives in her first 14 months in office.
“I look forward to providing the public with important updates on these topics and so much more,” said Mayor Flowers. “We have made great headway so far, but we realize there is far more to do. There is a new level of cooperation between the City Administration and Common Council, and we continue to grow the vast number of government and community partnerships we have created. The city has laid so much groundwork and is poised to reap the reward of that hard work,” she added.
The event also will be made available live and for replay on the city’s website, www.cityofpoughkeepsie.com and Facebook page.
