Bardavon Bus Trip to Broadway - Wicked

The Bardavon, in collaboration with Tours by Corby, announce our third jaunt to the Great White Way. On SUNDAY, March 7th a deluxe coach bus will depart from the Bardavon at 11:30 am for a 3 pm matinee performance of Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre, where our reserved seats are in the front center mezzanine. WICKED, the new mega hit Broadway musical, tells the whimsical story of two girls in the Land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How this unlikely pair end up friends plus become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch, respectively, makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years. Starring Tony Award-winner KRISTEN CHENOWETH (You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, ABC-TV's recent The Music Man) as the good one, Tony nominee IDINA MENZEL (the original Maureen in Rent) as the green one, and the legendary Oscar and Tony winner Joel Grey as The Wizard. Music and Lyrics by STEPHEN SWARTZ (Pippin, Godspell, Prince of Egypt, Pocahontas). Book by WINNIE HOLTZMAN (My So-Called Life, thirtysomething). Based on the best selling novel by GREGORY MAGUIRE. Musical staging by WAYNE CILENTO (Aida, The Who's Tommy). Directed by Tony Award winner JOE MANTELLO (Take Me Out, Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune, A Man of No Importance). The coach bus departs from the Bardavon at 11:30 am and a second pick up will be in Fishkill from the Dutchess Mall at Noon. A portion of the proceeds benefits Bardavon programming. Snacks are provided. Seating is limited. Call Donna at 845 473-5288 or e-mail dverteramo@bardavon.org
