Season 2004-2005 Event

Ralph Stanley & Ramblin Jack Elliot

In the Tradition: American Originals Way before his song O Death helped the O Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack win an Album of the Year Grammy Award, Ralph Stanley was considered an icon of folk, bluegrass, and country music. On the Bardavon stage he teams up with Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, a living legend of the’60s folk boom. After 50 years of playing alongside superstars like Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, Nanci Griffith and John Prine, the roguish storyteller is still going strong. Ramblin Jack Elliott is the grandfather of the current American roots music scene" San Francisco Chronicle On Ralph Stanley – “If you've never had the pleasure of hearing the man play live, do it now." Rob Sheffield - Rolling Stone Audience members are invited to a pre-concert talk with folklorist and musician Dale Johnson one hour prior to performance.
