Roman Holiday (1953)

In Audrey Hepburn’s screen debut she is a princess of an unidentified European country on a royal state visit to Rome, bored with pomp and circumstance and gone AWOL. Gregory Peck is an American journalist who first sees the opportunity for an exclusive, but falling in love gets in the way. The bittersweet story is said to have been inspired by the real British Princess Margaret’s adventures in Italy.
