Young Playwrights Festival

This marks the 12th year of the Young Playwrights Festival. Each year the Playwrights have surprised and stunned audiences as they tackle every subject imaginable, ranging from family drama, death, divorce, and even existential angst. Crawl inside the heads of 6th grade playwrights. It’s a Shakespearean ride. Tragic – moral – funny – magical. To be or not to be – these kids always are. Staged by professional actors and designers and presented in association with the Poughkeepsie City School District. Supported by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art, and made possible with public funds from the Arts-in-Education Program of the New York State Council on the Arts, a State agency. Also made possible in part through the support of the Poughkeepsie City School District.
