Swingin' on the Hudson

A festive afternoon of live jazz at its finest featuring the Metta Quintet, plus the Poughkeepsie High School Jazz Ensemble performing live with the pros. Featuring a variety of jazz standards and classic favorites from the great American songbook!

Over the course of an intensive in school residency, participating students interact, rehearse, learn from and perform live in concert with JazzReach's Metta Quintet. The program’s objectives are to promote creativity and teamwork, build confidence, cultivate a deeper appreciation of jazz music, improve students' overall musicianship and improvisational skills and inspire students to want to continue to improve and excel in both, music and life.
