Mel Brooks’ SPACEBALLS (1987)

Spaceballs Creatures Get in FREE!

(Kingston, NY) The Bardavon is pleased to continue its 8th season of presenting classic films on the big screen at UPAC in Kingston with Mel Brooks’ sci-fi comedy: Spaceballs (1987) on Friday February 19 at 7:30pm. All seats are just $6 (Spaceballs Creatures Get in FREE!). These screenings are made possible with support from The Dailey Freeman and Rondout Savings Bank.

This 1987 American parody film co-written and directed by Mel Brooks and starring Brooks, Bill Pullman, John Candy and Rick Moranis, also features Daphne Zuniga, Dick Van Patten, and the voice of Joan Rivers. It was released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and was met with a mixed reception. It later became a cult classic on video and one of Brooks' most popular films. Its setting and characters parody the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as other sci-fi franchises including Star Trek, Alien, and the Planet of the Apes films. The plot mirrors that of the 1934 film It Happened One Night.

The UPAC Friday Film Series continues with: Field of Dreams (3/4) and The Birdcage (4/22)
