Kingston, NY) The Bardavon is pleased to continue The Met: Live in HD 2015/16 season with Puccini’s masterpiece MADAMA BUTTERFLY on Saturday, April 2 at 1pm broadcast simultaneously at the Bardavon in Poughkeepsie and the Ulster Performing Arts Center (UPAC) in Kingston.

Kristine Opolais brings her heartbreaking interpretation of the title role in Madama Butterfly to Live in HD screens for the first time, in Anthony Minghella’s critically acclaimed 2006 production. Roberto Alagna sings Lieutenant Pinkerton, the callous officer who crushes Butterfly’s dreams of love. Debuting conductor Karel Mark Chichon leads a cast that also includes Maria Zifchak as Suzuki and Dwayne Croft as Sharpless.

PRE SHOW TALK: One half hour prior to curtain time, ticket-holders are invited to enjoy an insightful talk at the Bardavon or UPAC on the day's production lead by Leslie Gerber, who is a music teacher at Marist's Center for Lifetime Studies and author of all Hudson Valley Philharmonic playbill liner notes. For this broadcast, Leslie Gerber will be live at UPAC and Skype at Bardavon.
