The legendary Swiss “musicians of silence” return to the Bardavon with a special sneak preview of their new show “you & me”

Thursday, September 22 at 7pm

(Poughkeepsie, NY) The Bardavon presents a special sneak preview of Mummenschanz: “you & me”, Thursday, September 22 at 7pm at the Bardavon. Following a three week workshop residency at the Bardavon we present a preview of a brand new show, “you & me”, before it goes out on a worldwide tour!

Founded in 1972 by Bernie Schürch, Floriana Frassetto and Andres Bossard and following a three year run on Broadway that began in 1977, Swiss mask theater troupe Mummenschanz has pioneered a new form of visual theater and inspired generations of show-goers across five continents over four decades. The 'stories' told are unique in that they have no sound or music; but the language is universal and offers a timeless insight on the human condition. The result is a visually stunning spectacle that transcends cultural barriers and sparks the imagination.

Notwithstanding the death of co-founder Andres Bossard in 1992, Mummenschanz continues to tour the world. The years that followed Andres' early departure saw the emergence of more complete programs, the development of mask and playing techniques, and the broadening of the repertoire. More than a hundred new numbers have come to life over forty years and there is no end in sight.

Tickets for Mummenschanz “you & me” are $10 (all seats reserved) and may be purchased in person at the Bardavon Box Office, 35 Market Street, Poughkeepsie, 845.473.2072 or in person at the UPAC Box Office, 601 Broadway Kingston, 845.339.6088 or online at Ticketmaster: 800.745.3000.
