HVP: BEHIND THE MUSIC #2

The Bardavon is pleased to announce our second episode of HVP: Behind the Music: a new series on YouTube @BardavonPresents. Our next episode premieres on Sunday October 17th at 7pm.

Behind the Music introduces you to our guest conductors who will lead the orchestra in our 21-22 season. The series also features interviews with upcoming soloists and in-depth conversations with featured composers from each concert; many of whose works will be performed for the first time by the HVP this season.

Our next episode will focus on our October 30th concert The Exile’s Journey which will be led by guest conductor Tong Chen.  This concert is built around the Poughkeepsie Library District’s annual Big Read, which this year is the graphic novel The Best We Could Do by Thi Bui.  In this episode, the author joins us to speak about the book.  We also include interviews with featured violin soloist and HVP String Competition winner Ashley Jeehyun Park, HVP String Competition Co-Chairs Paul Stoddard and Susan Avery, and composer Viet Cuong whose piece Autumn will make it’s orchestral debut on our next concert. Tune in and learn more about what you will be hearing onstage at our October 30th concert!

If you can’t make the premiere, you can watch anytime leading up to the concert.
