HVP: BEHIND THE MUSIC #4

The Bardavon is pleased to announce our fourth episode of HVP: Behind the Music, a new series on YouTube @BardavonPresents.

Behind the Music introduces you to our guest conductors who will lead the orchestra in our 21-22 season. The series also features interviews with upcoming soloists and in-depth conversations with featured composers from each concert; many of whose works will be performed for the first time by the HVP this season.

The next episode will explore our April 23rd concert which features guest conductor Kelly Corcoran conducting two virtuoso concerto performances performed by an HVP string Competition winner as well as an HVP Principal player.  In this episode, composer Sarah Kirkland Snider discusses the creation of Something For the Dark a piece about resilience and endurance; something we all have wrestled with during the pandemic. We talk with HVP Principal Keyboardist Yalin Chi about her debut soloist appearance with the HVP performing Beethoven’s 4th Piano Concerto.  We discuss the upcoming program with guest conductor Kelly Corcoran and learn a bit more about her and her influences along the way.  And Kelly speaks with HVP String Competition Winner, Max Tan, about his long awaited performance of Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy that he played to become a competition winner four years ago!

Don’t miss it and don’t forget our pre-concert talk at 7PM with Kelly Corcoran where we will continue the conversation. If you can’t make the premiere, you can watch anytime leading up to the concert.
