King Kong (1933)

Presented by the Bardavon

The Bardavon has been closely monitoring the escalation of the Coronavirus outbreak. Our first priority is the safety of artists, patrons, staff, and the broader community. All health authorities clearly emphasize social distancing as the best way to deter the spread of COVID-19; therefore, we have decided to postpone all events at Bardavon and UPAC for a minimum of 30 days, effective immediately. We are actively formulating plans for next steps, rescheduling concert and event dates and communicating with all our patrons. As this issue unfolds we will continue to evaluate the situation and communicate our plans.

“Now you see it. You’re amazed. You can’t believe it. Your eyes open wider. It’s horrible, but you can’t look away. There’s no chance for you. No escape. You’re helpless, helpless. There’s just one chance, if you can scream. Throw your arms across your eyes and scream, scream for your life!”

No film library is complete without this title. Listed on not one, not two but SIX top AFI lists as one of the greatest films of all time. Faye Wray. Skull Island. Dinosaurs. Airplanes. How many times have you seen it? More importantly, how many times have you seen it on the big screen?

The Bardavon/UPAC film series is sponsored by Marshall & SterlingHerzog’s and Rondout Savings Bank.
