An important part of the Bardavon’s mission is to support teachers and students in learning through the Arts. We present international and national theater companies, whose thought-provoking productions entertain, enrich, teach and inspire. By bringing excellent educational programs to the Mid-Hudson Valley, the Bardavon hopes to help alter negative perceptions, instill strong values, and build students’ understanding of the world.

The Bardavon’s Arts-in-Education Program has touched elementary through high school students for almost three decades. Our unique residencies, such as our “Hip Hop Theater” or “Circus,” motivate students, build confidence, and enhance learning in all areas. For many inner-city students, the residencies and  day-time concert experiences are the only exposure to theater and/or classical music that they receive all year.

The Bardavon has a long history of giving all children and their families the chance to attend quality arts performances at affordable prices. With regular cuts in public school budgets for arts education and field-trips, the need for reduced-price tickets and transportation subsidies has only grown stronger. So, the Bardavon is stepping up the effort to reach as many children as possible through our Field-trip Fund. The Field-trip Fund underwrites ticket costs for children who would not otherwise be able to come to these performances!
