FILM: It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)

Following Poughkeepsie’s Celebration of Lights Parade.

Proof of vaccination is required for this event (see below)

“Frank Capra’s beloved tale of a family man learning to look at his life in a whole new light at Christmas time, thanks to the creative perspective of an angel trying to earn his wings, is no less relevant today than when it first came out. The movie can be found on TV all month long, but the ideal way to view the holiday classic—and the incomparable Jimmy Stewart at his best—is on the big screen at this very special showing following Poughkeepsie’s Celebration of Lights parade! A great way to get into the spirit of the season.”

In the lobby, Lambe Lambe, a multiple stage small puppet theatre presentation by Paperheart puppets will precede and follow the film with a holiday fantasy experience for all ages.

Mini concerts with Juan Cardona, Jr. on the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ take place 30 minutes before each film and are made possible by the New York Theatre Organ Society (NYTOS).

The Bardavon/UPAC film series is sponsored by The Upstate Coalition for a Fairgame, Marshall & Sterling, Herzog’s and Rondout Savings Bank.
