Movies from the Balcony: It’s A Wonderful Life (1946)

Frank Capra’s beloved tale of a family man learning to look at his life in a whole new light at Christmas time, thanks to the creative perspective of an angel trying to earn his wings, is no less relevant today than when it first came out.

A happy hour precedes each film starting at 6pm in our upstairs balcony lounge, with half price beer and wine, free snacks and soda, pre-movie happenings with local artists and artisans, and more. Don’t miss the opportunity to mingle with likeminded moviegoers, family, and friends, and enjoy some of cinema’s most creative offerings perched high up in the UPAC Mezzanine! (Accessible seating also available in the orchestra section.)

The screening caps off the Midtown Winter Wonderland festival from 4pm to 7pm. Join us in transforming Midtown Kingston for a community celebration along the Broadway Corridor to unite us all in holiday spirit! Visit each store to collect stamps for a huge goodie bag at Broadway Bubble – the heart of festivities! Broadway Bubble will be filled with performances by local talent. And don’t miss our first Kingston bike parade! Decorate your bikes with festive lights and join us as we ride from the YMCA down Broadway, culminating in the heart of the event at Broadway Bubble and then back to UPAC for It’s a Wonderful Life!
