Through The Fire: A Journey of Survival & Self-Forgiveness

A Free Community Performance

This remarkable one-man show that revolves around the captivating life story of Victor Almanzar beginning with a near-death experience that lands him in a Queens, NY hospital during the peak of the Covid pandemic. His life flashes before his eyes: his childhood in the Dominican Republic, his move as a youngster to NYC, gang life, drug life, identity struggles, love, and serving in Kosovo and Iraq after joining the U.S. Marine Corps. Through the Fire was developed at the Labyrinth Theatre Company by Actors Studio members Victor Almanzar and Elizabeth Canavan. Driven by Almanzar’s original Hip-Hop music, it takes the audience with the playwright on his journey of survival and self-forgiveness.
